Earth Spirits are those category of nature spirits that work with the element of Earth.
The element earth represents everything that is tangible and represents prosperity , materialism and the energy of action.
At the lowest level, we have gnomes which are humanlike in appearance and have an etheric form.
They wield etheric energy of a masculine nature and with their will power compress and project it onto nearby rocks to vitalize their energy. There are also higher forms of these gnomes which exist both in astral and etheric forms.
A variety of earth spirits are found associated with every type of rock. Gnomes of various kinds are associated with crystals and gems within the Earth. Deposits of metals have their own types of earth spirits with precious metals having the most evolved spirits of all.
Plant Life
Just like us, plants have an energy field surrounding them.
Nature spirits of many kinds are associated with the growth of plants. These include elves , pixies and fairies of various kinds. The roots of the plants are tended by pixies or elf like creatures which appear as tiny sparks of light and encourage the roots to absorb nutrients from the soil.
Another type of earth spirit associated with well-being of plants is a gnome like creature . They deal with the interactions between the root and soil as well as the connections between earth and air. Pixies with wings are responsible for drawing the etheric energies upwards from the soil allowing the stem and leaves to form. Flowers are the highly specialized parts of the plant and they are tended by specialized fairies. These fairies appear as tiny sparks of light and they draw in energies from the sun and the air and project these onto the flower. They remain in the flower for a short while collecting the diseased energies from the flower and projecting them into space again. They repeat these processes again and again to help in the creation of different parts of the plant.
Trees
Dryads – Trees are tended to by a similar kind of nature spirits called dryads except these are more individual in their consciousness. They have a feminine energy and resemble the human female with a face , shoulder and trunk. As they evolve, they are also able to extend beyond their individual tree . They are aware of human beings and interested in their feelings towards the tree. Dryads have a particular type of consciousness that are conducive to the growth of wisdom in humans. For this reason we as a race are very attracted to trees and are nurtured spiritually in their presence.
Tree Manikins – Another type of nature spirits that help in the growth of plants are Tree Manikins. Tree Manikins can channel the ancient wisdom of Mother earth as they are connected deeply to Mother Earth. They specialize in connecting with humans and helping to heal them and provide ancient wisdom. They will open up their soul to us and in turn will the expect the same from us . This is the reason several people feel connected to trees and some also feel that tree or plant is conversing with them. This is nothing but being in tune to the spirit of the tree or the plant.
Tree spirits are not tied to a particular tree and they can move to a little distance beyond the tree. Usually, the tree spirits are busy with growing activities during the day and we don’t sense them much. However, it is only at night when they are more free and move about. This is the reason we sometimes get the jitters when we roam about in an area full of trees at night.
Apart from this, just like plants, trees also have several fairies and elves that help in the growing process of a tree and are tied to the tree. They usually are present beneath the surface of each tree and hence each tree is actually a bridge between the physical and fairie realms. The Banyan tree , oak tree and the hawthorn tree are some of the trees which are house to a large number of elves or fairies.
Landscapes
Larger landscapes are usually governed by much higher earth spirits called devas who are responsible to the functioning of an entire landscape like that of mountain ranges, valleys , forests etc., They are usually aware of anything that happens in their territory . They transmute the higher energies from astral and higher planes to govern the formative processes in their assigned area. They also monitor the work of several smaller nature spirits assigned to work in their sphere of influence.
How to Attune to Earth Spirits
Take a walk in nature. Spend time around trees or in parks and just enjoy being in their presence.
- Go outside the cities on extended camping trips and spend time in nature
- Meditate under different trees. Feel the difference in the quality of each tree and try to determine its character and inner spirit.
- Sit far from the tree and try to soft gaze on the tree with half closed eyes. See if you are able to see any forms on the tree.
- Create a fairy altar in your yard. Leave the space wild and make some offerings like milk or honey or crystals and visit the place regularly.
All nature spirits develop and grow through positive associations with people who know about them, believe in them or can see them. These are forms of validation that confirm their reality in the world and give them power. Greeting them or thanking them, even if we cannot see them, gives them the recognition and validation they need to grow. It is a great joy just to know about them and to have them in our world. Sometime in future , when people become more aware of them both man and nature spirits will definitely benefit from each other.
